Glass Whiteboards
Glass whiteboards for sale in South Africa from Bestboard, manufactured locally since 1996. Unlike steel or melamine whiteboards, glass never ghosts or stains. A single wipe removes all marker residue, even after years of daily use. Every board is frameless 6mm toughened glass, in two finishes and 8 sizes from 600mm x 900mm to 1200mm x 2400mm, priced from R2 399. Free delivery nationwide.
Floating Glass Whiteboards
Low-iron white glass on concealed wall brackets, so the board appears to float on the wall with no visible fixings. Standard glass has a green tint that dulls the white behind it. Low-iron glass removes it, giving a pure, bright white and the strongest marker contrast in the range. Supplied with a wall-mounted acrylic pen tray. Also available magnetic, for use with neodymium magnets (not included), from R2 520. Shop floating non-magnetic glass whiteboards or floating magnetic glass whiteboards.
Sandblasted Glass Whiteboards
A frosted, low-glare glass surface on four stainless steel standoff screws that hold the glass slightly proud of the wall. The softer finish cuts reflections in rooms with large windows or strong overhead lighting. Non-magnetic as standard, with custom magnetic versions available on request. Shop sandblasted glass whiteboards.
How to Choose
Finish: floating white for the brightest writing surface and a clean wall with no visible fixings. Sandblasted for bright, naturally lit rooms where glare is a concern.
Size: 600mm x 900mm and 900mm x 900mm suit home offices and small meeting rooms. 900mm x 1200mm is our most popular size for standard meeting rooms. 1200mm x 1200mm and 1200mm x 1500mm suit boardrooms and training rooms. 1200mm x 1800mm up to 1200mm x 2400mm give the most writing space for large boardrooms.
Thickness: every board is 6mm toughened glass, rigid enough to sit perfectly flat on the wall at every size.

Need help choosing the right glass whiteboard?
If you are not sure which glass board is right for your space, here is a quick guide. Every Bestboard glass whiteboard is 6mm toughened glass, so the choice comes down to finish, magnetic or not, and size.
The floating glass whiteboard is low-iron white glass on concealed wall brackets. There are no visible fixings, and it gives the brightest, highest-contrast writing surface in the range. It is our recommendation for boardrooms and training rooms, and it comes with an acrylic pen tray.
Need to pin up notes and documents? The floating magnetic glass whiteboard is the same board with a magnetic surface. It works with neodymium magnets, which are not included.
The sandblasted glass whiteboard has a frosted, low-glare surface mounted on four stainless steel standoff screws. It keeps reflections down in rooms with large windows or bright overhead lighting.
Floating non-magnetic and sandblasted boards cost the same at every size.
For size, 900mm x 1200mm suits most meeting rooms. Go to 1200mm x 1500mm or 1200mm x 1800mm for boardrooms, and up to 1200mm x 2400mm, our largest, for training rooms and large walls.

FAQ
What is a glass whiteboard?
A glass whiteboard is a frameless writing board made from toughened glass rather than the steel or melamine surface of a standard whiteboard. Glass whiteboards never ghost, are extremely easy to clean, and give a premium, frameless look. Bestboard glass whiteboards are 6mm toughened glass in two finishes:
- Floating: low-iron white glass on concealed brackets, magnetic or non-magnetic.
- Sandblasted: frosted glass on stainless steel standoffs.
What is the difference between floating and sandblasted glass whiteboards?
Floating glass whiteboards use low-iron glass. Standard glass has a green tint that dulls the white behind it. Low-iron glass removes that tint, giving a pure, bright white and the strongest marker contrast. The board hangs on concealed wall brackets, so no fixings are visible.
Sandblasted glass has a frosted finish that diffuses light and reduces glare. It is mounted on four visible stainless steel standoff screws that hold it slightly off the wall, and it offers slightly lower contrast than a white surface.
Choose floating if you write a lot or need notes to be read from the back of a large room. Choose sandblasted for bright rooms where glare is a concern.
Are your glass whiteboards magnetic?
Floating glass whiteboards come in magnetic and non-magnetic versions. The magnetic version works with neodymium (rare-earth) magnets only, because standard whiteboard magnets are not strong enough to hold reliably through the glass. Magnets are not included. Sandblasted boards are non-magnetic as standard, with custom magnetic versions available on request.
Do you still sell 4mm glass whiteboards?
No. Bestboard glass whiteboards are now 6mm only. The price gap between the two narrowed until the thinner option was no longer worth stocking, so every board in the range is 6mm toughened glass. 6mm is thicker and more rigid, giving a noticeably more premium and substantial feel, which suits executive boardrooms, high-traffic areas and prestige installations where the quality of the board contributes to the look of the space.
Do your glass whiteboards come with mounting hardware?
Yes, the fittings are included in the price:
- Floating glass whiteboards: concealed wall brackets, screws, wall plugs, an acrylic pen tray and installation instructions.
- Sandblasted glass whiteboards: four stainless steel standoff fittings.
Markers are not included. Compatible dry-erase markers are available separately in our whiteboard accessories range.
Do you deliver glass whiteboards nationwide in South Africa?
Yes. Bestboard delivers glass whiteboards nationwide across South Africa, including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth. Free delivery. Custom sizes are manufactured to order. Contact us on (011) 440 1506 for a lead time and quote.
How do you install a glass whiteboard?
- Floating boards hang on the concealed brackets supplied. Fix the brackets to the wall with the screws and wall plugs provided, following the included instructions, then hang the board.
- Sandblasted boards mount on four stainless steel standoffs. Mark the drill points on the wall using the board as a template, drill and insert the wall plugs, then attach the standoffs and fit the board.
For the larger sizes or tiled walls, professional installation is recommended. We install in Gauteng and Cape Town, or can advise on your specific wall type.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. Bestboard glass whiteboards carry a lifetime anti-stain warranty. The warranty does not cover boards that have been written on or cleaned with products we do not recommend. Use dry-erase markers, and clean as described below.
How do you clean a glass whiteboard?
Wipe daily with a dry microfibre cloth or whiteboard eraser to remove dry-erase marker. For stubborn marks, spray a small amount of whiteboard cleaner or isopropyl alcohol onto the cloth and wipe clean. Avoid abrasive cleaners and paper towels which can scratch the surface. Glass whiteboards will not ghost under normal use. If marks persist, check that you are using dry-erase markers and not permanent markers.
Can you get custom size glass whiteboards in South Africa?
Yes. Bestboard manufactures custom size glass whiteboards from our Johannesburg facility. If the standard sizes do not fit your wall space, contact us on (011) 440 1506 or WhatsApp (+27) 76 056 4567 with your dimensions and we will provide a quote and lead time.
