Glass Whiteboards

Glass whiteboards for sale in South Africa from BestBoard, manufactured locally since 1996. Unlike standard steel or melamine whiteboards, glass whiteboards never ghost and are effortless to clean — a single wipe removes all marker residue without leaving shadows or staining over time. Our glass whiteboards are frameless with polished edges and stainless steel stand-off fittings included, giving offices, boardrooms and reception areas a clean, floating look that standard framed boards cannot match. Available in 4mm and 6mm thickness, in sandblasted or white background finishes, in sizes from 600×900mm to 1200×1800mm. Custom sizes are available on request.

4mm Sandblasted Glass Boards

A frosted, low-glare finish that reduces reflections in naturally lit meeting rooms and classrooms. The soft, diffused surface works well with dark dry-erase markers and gives a subtle, professional appearance. Available in 2 sizes: 600×900mm (from R2,013) and 900×1200mm (from R3,377). Stainless steel stand-off fittings included.

4mm Glass Board on White Background

Maximum writing contrast in a 4mm frameless glass format — ideal for offices and meeting rooms where you want the clean look of glass with the familiar white surface of a traditional whiteboard. Available in 2 sizes: 600×900mm (from R2,316) and 900×1200mm (from R3,884). Stainless steel stand-off fittings included.

6mm Sandblasted Glass Boards

Thicker, heavier glass for executive boardrooms, high-traffic spaces and anywhere a more substantial, premium feel is required. The frosted sandblasted finish reduces glare while the 6mm thickness gives a noticeably solid, high-end look. Available in 4 sizes: 600×900mm, 900×1200mm, 1200×1500mm and 1200×1800mm, priced from R3,884. Stainless steel stand-off fittings included.

6mm Glass Board on White Background

Our top-of-the-range glass whiteboard. Ultra-durable 6mm toughened glass with a white background for the highest writing contrast available in a glass format. The preferred choice for prestige boardrooms, executive offices and corporate reception areas. Available in 4 sizes: 600×900mm, 900×1200mm, 1200×1500mm and 1200×1800mm, priced from R3,378. Stainless steel stand-off fittings included.

How to choose the right glass whiteboard

Size

For small offices, huddle rooms and reception areas, a 600mm x 900mm glass whiteboard is usually sufficient and fits neatly on most walls without dominating the space. Standard meeting rooms and boardrooms work best with a 900mm x 1200mm board — large enough for diagrams and notes visible across a table. For large boardrooms, training rooms and executive spaces where the board is a focal point of the room, a 1200mm x 1500mm or 1200mm x 1800mm gives maximum writing surface and visual impact. Custom sizes are available for non-standard walls.

Finish

Sandblasted glass has a frosted finish that diffuses light and reduces glare — the better choice for naturally lit rooms, rooms with large windows, or spaces where reflections from overhead lighting are a concern. White background glass has a bright white backing that gives the highest writing contrast, making notes and diagrams easier to read from a distance. If your room is well-lit and you write detailed content that needs to be read across a large table or training room, white background is the recommended finish.

Thickness

4mm glass is suitable for most offices, meeting rooms and classrooms — it is lighter, easier to install and more affordable while still giving the full frameless glass aesthetic. 6mm glass is noticeably thicker and heavier, giving a more substantial, high-end feel that suits executive boardrooms and prestige installations where the board itself contributes to the look and feel of the space. Both thicknesses use the same stainless steel stand-off fittings and are available in sandblasted and white background finishes.

Need help choosing the right glass whiteboard?

If you are not sure which glass board is right for your space, here is a quick guide. For most standard offices and meeting rooms, the 4mm sandblasted is the most popular choice — it looks great, reduces glare and is priced accessibly. If your room is very bright or you write a lot of detail, the 4mm white background gives better contrast for reading notes from a distance. For a premium boardroom or executive office where the board itself is part of the room's aesthetic, the 6mm white background is our top recommendation — the thickness and weight make it feel genuinely high-end. For size, 900×1200mm suits most meeting rooms; go 1200×1500mm or 1200×1800mm for larger boardrooms or training rooms. Not sure whether glass is the right choice for your space at all? FAQ

What is a glass whiteboard?

A glass whiteboard is a frameless writing board made from toughened glass rather than the traditional steel or melamine surface of a standard whiteboard. Glass whiteboards never ghost, are extremely easy to clean, and give a premium, frameless appearance with polished edges and stainless steel stand-off mountings. BestBoard glass whiteboards are available in 4mm and 6mm thickness in sandblasted or white background finishes.

What is the difference between sandblasted and white background glass boards?

Sandblasted glass has a frosted finish that diffuses light and reduces glare — it looks subtle and modern but offers slightly lower contrast for writing than a white surface. White background glass boards have a white backing behind the glass, giving a bright, high-contrast writing surface similar to a traditional whiteboard but with a frameless glass finish. White background is the better choice if you write a lot or need to read notes from the back of a large room.

What is the difference between 4mm and 6mm glass whiteboards?

4mm glass is suitable for most offices, meeting rooms and classrooms — it is lighter, easier to handle and more affordable. 6mm glass is thicker and heavier, giving a noticeably more premium and substantial feel. It is recommended for executive boardrooms, high-traffic areas and prestige installations where the quality of the board contributes to the overall look of the space.

Do your glass whiteboards come with mounting hardware?

Yes. All BestBoard glass whiteboards include stainless steel stand-off fittings in the price. Markers are not included — compatible dry-erase markers are available separately in our whiteboard accessories range.

Do you deliver glass whiteboards nationwide in South Africa?

Yes. BestBoard delivers glass whiteboards nationwide across South Africa, including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth. Free delivery applies to all orders over R950. Custom sizes are manufactured to order — contact us on (011) 440 1506 for a lead time and quote.

How do you install a glass whiteboard?

Glass whiteboards are mounted using the stainless steel stand-off fittings included with every board. Mark the drill points on the wall using the board as a template, drill into the wall and insert the appropriate wall plugs, then attach the stand-off bolts and hang the board. For heavy 6mm boards or tiled walls, professional installation is recommended. Contact us if you need installation advice for your specific wall type.

How do you clean a glass whiteboard?

Wipe daily with a dry microfibre cloth or whiteboard eraser to remove dry-erase marker. For stubborn marks, spray a small amount of whiteboard cleaner or isopropyl alcohol onto the cloth and wipe clean. Avoid abrasive cleaners and paper towels which can scratch the surface. Glass whiteboards will not ghost under normal use — if marks persist, check that you are using dry-erase markers and not permanent markers.

Can you get custom size glass whiteboards in South Africa?
